Tingari Ranch Retreat
A beautiful secluded ranch just 35 minutes from Austin, nestled in an ancient valley where Tonkawa Indians camped on the banks of Onion Creek. Amid a typical Texan hill-country landscape of rolling hills, spring-fed creeks, abundant wildlife and majestic views, Tingari Ranch Retreat is just 3 miles from the small bustling town of Dripping Springs, known for generations as ‘The Gateway to the Hill Country’. Wimberley is less than 10 minutes from our front gate, and San Marcos retail outlets and the LBJ ranch are also only 30 minutes away.
Tingari Ranch Retreat consists of two large homes tucked away in a private tranquil valley on an escarpment with Onion Creek meandering through its center. The Ranch House consists of three floors of living space sleeping up to 15 people: 4 large bedrooms (2 with King beds plus sofa bed or twin/trundle, 2 with Queen beds, a small office off the master with a twin hideaway, and a Queen raised inflatable bed in the game room to sleep 2 more), 2.5 bathrooms plus an outdoor shower, large kitchen dining and living areas with two story stone fireplace, top of the line appliances such as a Thermador range/oven, a large game and media room, a small home gym with free weights and exercise bike, and a huge outdoor deck with outdoor fireplace perched 20 feet above the ground overlooking the creek just twenty yards away.
The single-story Australian Bungalow, 50 yards from the first house, also sleeps up to 15 people. This house consists of 4 large bedrooms (2 with King beds, one with King bed and twin/trundle and one with 2 double bunk beds with 2 trundles), a small single bedroom, 3 full bathrooms, large kitchen dining and living areas with stone fireplace, a huge covered outdoor patio with outdoor fireplace and sweeping views through the trees beyond the pool to Onion Creek.
Together these homes total more than 7500 square feet of living space set in a 72 acre oasis offering great privacy while being minutes from city amenities.
Facilities include hiking trails, full size tennis court, basketball, horseshoe pit, beach volleyball court, kayaks and a paddle boat for when the creek is full, large outdoor chess board, a salt water pool with 25 yard lap lane surrounded by decking, and a built in firepit between the two houses — the perfect spot for singalongs around the campfire.
Texas wildlife and bird life abound – from deer, to wild turkeys, foxes, armadillos, squirrels, road runners, turtles and fresh water fish. This is a wonderful haven for gatherings of family and friends, or for just “being”. Enjoy the endless options for individual or group activity, or just relax in a hammock out by the creek, on a chaise lounge by the pool or on one of the extensive covered porches and enjoy the tranquility and rugged beauty of the Texas hill country.
